
Pathopaeia – Music of 17th Century Vienna

For the final concert of the season, Tesserae leader and violinist Andrew McIntosh has put together a program of music for brass, strings, and singers, alternating large and intimate works by Giovanni Valentini, Antonio Bertali, Giovanni Felice Sances, and Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, four composers who held the title of Kapellmeister at the Imperial Court in Vienna between 1626 and 1680.
Also woven into the program are works by composers in Salzburg, with virtuosic chamber music by Heinrich Biber and glorious choral works by Johann Stadlmayr.
