Tesserae is excited to present a program of music by Georg Phillip Telemann with special guest artist Rodolfo Richter. Telemann, personal friend to Johann Sebastian Bach and godfather to his son Carl Phillip Emanuel, is regarded as one of the most prolific composers in Western music history. Enjoying great popularity during his own lifetime, Telemann was a master of almost every musical genre of his day, and this program will explore this variety in his instrumental works. This concert features the famous violin concerto in A Major, “The Frogs,” as well as the Suite in A minor for recorder and strings.

The British-Brazilian violinist Rodolfo Richter is one of the leading Baroque violinists in the early music world today, having performed as soloist with many of the leading ensembles in the field.
